Member Code of Conduct Forum principles & expectations of member contributions

Within the realm of The Association of Therapy Professionals (ATP), a professional community thrives, occupied by verified members. It is imperative that our members conduct themselves with propriety, recognizing that their expressions are under the scrutiny of other professional members and ATP staff. We advocate for treating others with the same kindness and respect one would expect for themselves. Our goal is to cultivate a respectful and professional forum reminiscent of a networking event—casual and enjoyable yet professional and focused. When interacting on the platform, consider whether your words align with the standards of professionalism at a business event representing your enterprise. If not, it may not be suitable for ATP.

A large proportion of the threads, originate from members seeking insights on specific topics. While some may be seasoned experts, others may be novices. While we don’t expect our expert members to provide exhaustive explanations of their expertise, we do expect constructive engagement, discouraging unhelpful criticism or sarcastic retorts. In essence, it is acceptable to decide that a post isn’t worth responding to, but disruptive behaviour is not tolerated.

Members of the ATP come from various walks of life, encompassing diverse locations, cultures, genders, sexual orientations, races, and religions. The platform strictly prohibits hate speech, regardless of its target or source. Given that English may not be the first language for every participant, we encourage members to be considerate in responses. Humour and sarcasm should be used judiciously, recognizing the challenges of conveying tone online. Our aspiration is to foster an inclusive environment welcoming members from all corners of the globe.

Some forum members may approach the platform grappling with issues they perceive as potentially negative for their businesses. While perspectives may differ, we encourage an assumption of earnestness on the part of our members. Responding with temperance and consideration, especially when attempting to reshape someone’s perspective, is paramount. Consistent put-downs, harassment, bullying, or name-calling are strictly prohibited. In times of trouble, the ATP aims to be a supportive community where members respond with understanding.
